i got a HP X34 monitor, the max resolution should be 3440 x 1440 @165hz, however, all the settings on my pc is maxed at 75hz with display port. I think with HDMI it gave me a 120hz option.
Does it have anything to do with my graphics card ? im using nvidia 1080TI. The monitor is a freesync premium monitor.
How to get it to work under the max resolution and refresh rate?

In Nvidia control panel under "PC RES" not Ultra HD,HD etc you should see 3440x1440P @ 165HZ

i tried that, still only 60hz or 75hz, with hdmi it gave me a 100hz max.

I would have to remote in I have seen many people in the past with the same issues.

So Monitor DP - GPU DP?

DP 1.4 at the very least can do 3440x1440p 144hz so something is being missed.

yes, i even tried the original dp and another one i bought, still capped at 75hz. it's connected to my GPU dp port directly. my other secondary asus monitor was able to reach 144hz without an issue.

it has 3 dp ports, i tried all 3, my other monitor worked fine with either but this one is always capped at 75hz no matter which one it's connected to.

Go into the monitor settings and turn off Freesync then try again. If this does not work I would have to see a photo of the Nvidia control panel PC RES section to move ahead.

Have you tried this with the other monitor unplugged? If you lower it to 2560x1440P does it give options for higher refresh rates?

i unplugged the dp cable on the other monitor, nothing changed on this HP one, still only 120hz at 2560x1440p

Seems like a bandwidth issue but once you unplugged the other you should have seen higher options for refresh rate at 2560x1440 as I know for a fact a 1080ti DP 1.4 can do 144 @ 2560x1440p, I am sorry I am out of ideas. Any chance you have another system or a friend who does where you can test the monitor on a newer card?

Yeah depends on the graphics on that laptop and if you have USB-C or DP out to achieve higher then 120hz.

BTW EVGA tech support is really good. Maybe they will know of a limitation with this specific card. 1 (888) 881-3842 enter your serial number of video card when prompted.
