3440x1440p gpu question

I'm just wondering if two 970s in SLI should be enough for a 1440p ultrawide. I was looking to get two 980s but the common suggestion was to get 970s instead. Just looking for more input before I pull the trigger. Thanks!

a single 970 can pump out at least 30fps at 4k on nearly all games so with two of them at a lower resolution, you should be fine.

2 gtx 970's is consider the "budget option" for 4k gaming. so it will be plenty for uw 1440p.
