So, recently I had a virus called RelevantKnowledge. I couldn't delete the file as it was locked but I uninstalled it from the control panel and ended the task in task manager so I think I removed that virus. That virus was causing high CPU usage (I was lagging in lots of games and my keyboard which has a performance monitor LCD screen said 100% of my CPU was being used) but now my CPU is down to like 1% when idle. But my RAM is still up at 35% when nothing is open.

I went into task manager and found razersynapse.exe taking up 70MB of ram and so is explorer.exe. I don't I have any viruses there taking up RAM, DWM.exe takes 20MB but I know what DWM is.

S, why is my RAM usage so high? 70 MB should cause 35% of RAM to be taken up should it? Google Chrome takes up 100MB and it when I open google chrome it goes from 35% to 40%. So if 100MB is 5% why is 70MB 35%?

Thanks.

Solution
dont delete it, right click on it and hit properties and on startup type select disabled then hit apply then also press stop on the service controls and ok.

its supposed to load parts of regularly used applications into memory on windows startup using up ram and thrashing your HDD, it is a useless features on a gaming pc and can also hinder system performance.

Superfetch isn't in services. Also I don't use avast.
