350$ gaming build

ok, straight to the point, i have about 350$-400$, i want to buy a pc for my friend(he lost his "gaming" laptop), i need a decent CPU for gaming(mostly gaming no rendering or anything like that), the best GPU that i can get(Nvidia if possible) (the build not included Case, OS or HDD, SSD), 🙁 sorry for my bad english, my original build was:
-GTX 750ti
-intel G3258
-8GB g.skill RAM
-Asrock H81M-DGS
any suggestions?

plys build is better. The i3 in real world uses (not just looking at single core clock speed) is better then the g3258, and the 270 is better then a 750. You would have to spend over $200 on a new GTX-960 to get anything better then the 750 for Nvidia card.

The g3258 is a awesome cpu and overclockable like hell but heres the problem.... Its dual core a lot of the game makers are leaning towards games not working with a dual core now.. Far cry 4 watch dogs call of duty awf and DAI so its the end of that chip as a gaming chip in the near future if they companys don't give us patches so we can play those games I also own A G 3258 myself... So your best option is go with the build that plywrlw purposed ..Hes got a good build for you and its upgradable in the future as well.

I agree, but right now Dragon Age inquisition is the only game that unapologetically refuses to run on two threads. CoD is fixed; it runs on two threads now, and Far Cry 4 is expected to be patched for it soon.

They didn't run on two threads more because of poor optimization. Analysis of Far Cry 4's thread usage indicated it heavily uses the 3rd thread, but only mildy uses threads 1 and 2. It doesn't use the 4th thread at all.

P.S. Bioware is offering a full refund to anyone with a two-thread CPU who bought Dragon age: Inq.

thanks for all the answers, should i switch to AMD CPU(overclockable)? my friend lost his laptop (i7 something M 3.0GHZ, GT840M,8Gb RAM- in my country it cost about 1000$ ), i want him to have a little bit taste of desktop PC, gonna send him my old monitor 1366x768@60Hz and my 2TB WD HDD
