Back in 2016 I asked you guys on here about building a pc and got some great responses. Unfortunately Something happened with my bank and subsequently, I lost all my money. All 3000 dollars of it. This was very difficult and I didn’t want to even think about PCs anymore because I couldn’t bear looking at all the new tech with no way to afford it. Now I’m back on track with around 1000 dollars saved and on the way to earning more and I’m building a PC which will last me for years to come. I want to be able to mod the arse off TES 6 when it eventually comes out and I want to be able to play crysis 3, at 4K resolution (purely for benchmarks). I might be going to Asia in the next year and would probably buy all the components in China (where I’ve heard it’s cheaper). I also want to use my 4K tv as a monitor. Pls help. Honestly, there's not much use in putting together a build for next year when it's only this year. Prices will be different, parts will be different, what's a good buy and what isn't will be different.

Also, whether using a 4K TV as a PC monitor is a good thing is quite reliant on what specific 4K TVs we're talking about.

Very good build, two things I'd swap are the case and CPU+motherboard. I have that exact same case, don't like it at all cause the airflow is horrible. Not to mention the fact that i only have one GPU, you have two GPUs. it'd be a heatmare. Go for a case like the H500 mesh that has good airflow.

Then I'd highly recommend swapping to a 2700X if you want your rig to last very long, everything is going to multi core now, not to mention the future. And the 2700X is pretty darn close to the 8700K in gaming, and it beats it in anything that is higher than 6 core workloads.

When exactly are you planning on building/buying this?

When you say you previously lost all your money, do you mean literally all of it or just all of the money you had set aside for your PC? If it's the former, do you really want to spend every penny you have on a PC?

Overall looks pretty good. Personally, I'd ditch the 2nd 1080 Ti (multi GPU support isn't great and is only getting worse from what I hear), and the bling-ed out $450 32GB of RAM (16 GB is enough IMO). Could also get a cheaper/lower capacity PSU without the 2nd GPU.

Lastly, TVs tend to have pretty bad response time which makes them sub-optimal for gaming. You could do it, but I feel like if you're building a high end gaming rig it makes sense to get a good gaming monitor to go with it.

well for 4k gaming, this would do atm:

don't know what TES6 is, if it can make use of an i7, go for one.

however by next year, there will be a new gen of GPUs out, possibly a new line of CPUs.
so better throw something together when you're about to buy and can properly budget

Cheers for the advice. My 4K tv has a pretty good refresh rate of around 120hz so I don’t mind using it as a monitor. I understand where you’re coming from. I’m just looking for a base list of components which I can chop and change nearer the time of the build. Thanks though!

Thanks for the advice bro! I lost all the money in my debit account. Which was money for my pc. I keep my other money in a separate account, so no i’m Not spending all my money on my PC. I kind of wanted the second 1080ti so I could run pretty much anything. Thought it couldn’t hurt to have the extra power on the build. What part of SLI is getting worse though? Lastly I’ve got a tv with a 120hz refresh rate and may upgrade to one with a 140 or even 240hz refresh rate, so I reckon that could be alright.

Thanks so much for the advice. I’ll probably change up the case to something with better airflow because when it’s sitting next to my tv I probably won’t be too fussed about looks. I’m also torn between an AIO liquid cooler and a good Noctua fan with some other noctuas providing airflow around the case. Heat will definitely be a problem. A few people have been discouraging the SLI part of the build. Do you agree with them?

Yeah I agree, were in this low point right now when it comes to multi GPU setups since Nvidia's basically deleting SLI. Fortunately this shouldn't be a problem in the near future once all games switch to DX12/Vulkan and more game companies hopefully start developing tech for non SLI/CFX multi GPU support.
