36 pin mini-Centronics (M) -> USB

I have an old Printer HP LaserJet 3150, but it's all-in-one and cost me
a fortune back then. Since USB is so popular now and I'm want to
convert my printer to USB. Is there a way? There was a thread 5 years
back about the same topic, hopefully technology has improved! It's
using HP IEEE 1284C cable (36 pin mini-Centronics (M) - DB-25 (M)).

I found a printer adapter for "36 pin mini-Centronics - male - 4 pin
USB Type A - male" from Canon. I'm not sure if it will work. It's
pretty expensive for this cable.

Any idea on getting rid of old cable to move on the USB?

Are you looking to switch from a parallel to a USB connection, just because
USB is so popular ?

Just go to your local computer cables and stuff shop, they're bound to
have a cheap USB-parallel cable. Though, if you have an parallel port,
why not use it? Also, you'll need to install a driver which may not be
entirely compatible with your printer (especially "all-in-ones", which
tend to have peculiar, proprietary drivers and software).

Yap, they are so popular and I want to get rip of desktop and use
laptop.

Did that, and they gave me the bad USB-parallel cable. They gave me
USB to parrallel, but it doesn't connect to HP printer.

I'd consider ethernet or WiFi before twiddling around with usb to
centronics adapters. Either that or bluetooth but bluetooth is a tad
spendy. Simply put... wifi hubs with parallel ports on them

This costs $159 and the offical HP solution.... damn useful if your
laptop has bluetooth, but the most expensive solution.

For $50 you can get a wifi adapter for your printer, useful if you have
an existing wireless network

There are also wifi hubs with support for old style printers which I
see from time to time.
