Additional Comments: I'm a first time builder. I will be buying a 7770 around Christmas time. I really want to buy my cpu/motherboard from Microcenter, even though their motherboard selection is very limited, because with the purchase of an i5-3750k the motherboard is $40 off. I also know the k version is for overclocking but I need to buy it for the motherboard deal. Also not sure if I should go for the Rosewill Challenger or stick with the Antec 300.

And Most Importantly, Why Are You Upgrading: I am currently using a 10 year old computer.

You can't use CPU multiplier overclocking on B75 chipset boards, which although is the whole point of a K edition CPU, is not the only way to overclock a CPU. B75 still supports Turbo and BLCK overclocking.

Sure, OP shouldn't pair a K edition CPU with such a board because it won't overclock any better than the non-K edition of the same model and that board simply can't utilize the potential of a K edition CPU, but OP can overclock with that board so long as the BIOS isn't junk.

Yes, but the CX series uses unreliable caps and although it's Corsair, it's still a junk series as a result of its low quality caps. Something such as a similarly priced Antec EarthWatts or Basiq unit would be much more reliable.

Yes, that one is better. It's somewhat overkill on power delivery, but it should be fine and nothing else that is as good and modular can be had cheaper AFAIK right now, lower power delivery or not.

Yes, non K edition i5s can also overclock through Turbo Boost and the BLCK.

I really won't need the extra power of OC so I think I'm going to stick with a B75. I am still kind of wondering which PSU I should get, the seasonic or the modular antec. Help anyone?

The Antec is what I'd argue for if you want a modular PSU. It's a very good PSU and modular PSUs can be much more convenient to build computers with than non-modular PSUs. If you don't mind having a non-modular PSU, then I'd skip out on the Antec for a lower wattage PSU such as that Seasonic or an Antec Basiq 430W or EarthWatts 430W.

I was looking at a PSU Tier List ( http://www.eggxpert.com/forums/thread/323050.aspx ) and it said the Seasonic S12 is a tier 2 while the Antec Basiq is a tier 3. Is there really that big of a quality difference between them?

Yes, but the Antec VP 450 is a tier 2 power supply, and is only 35 dollars. Based on tests, at max load it can actually pull 550W, a full 100W more than stated, and still retain 81% efficiency. It's a cheap alternative to a Seasonic, basically (basiq-ally ;D). It's been recommended multiple times in Tom's Hardware's System Builder Marathons.

No, it's not better. Having higher wattage doesn't make it better, especially considering the fact that it has inferior build quality with its bad caps. It's not a bad model, but it's not better and I wouldn't even call it as good as the VP 450. Besides, the VP 450 can be bought at Amazon (it's in stock) cheaper than Newegg is charging anyway.
