I recently built a new PC,

I tried overclocking the memory in the BIOS and when I reset my computer after I overclock it turns off and on right away then into safe mode. Shows my memory is running at 2133 MHz when it is rated for 3600?? HELP! Everything is up to date. Messed with some other settings but I am assuming it is a voltage issued that I am missing?

  • ROG X-570 E motherboard
  • Ryzen 7 2700x CPU( waiting for the 9 )
  • Corsair Dominator Platinum RGB 32GB (4x8GB) DDR4 3600 (PC4-28800)
  • Custom EK Liquid Loop
  • 1200 watt PSU
  • ROG Strix 590 GPU
  • 1 TB Samsung Evo Plus M.2

The 2700x does not support 3600mhz memory...the best you'll likely see is around 3400mhz with a good chip...higher than that requires unsafe voltage to be stable.

2700x will not give you that speed, probably your PC is in a boot loop cuz you are trying to achieve 3600MHz, yes your MB supports that speed, but the CPU not, AMD rated speeds for second-gen is 2933MHz, but of course you can go higher, just do few simple things, go into the bios, overclocking tap just enable either XMP or D.O.C.P labeled on your Asus MB, just enable the DOCP/XMP profile but after go to your speed and click on it and select it 3200mhz hit save and exit and tell us what happened, ok ?!

Thanks for all the great help I turned the Ai Overclock Tuner to D.O.C.P. then switched the memory frequency to 3200MHz and it is running GREAT! No problems with the PC shutting off and on right away. Very happy with the results until I get a new CPU. Thanks for all the help!

Cool, I glad that works. You can push from 3200Mhz up, by 100mhz to check to what frequency your ram will be stable ofc.
