Do you have a B450 or X470 board? (Or the 350 or 370 variants)
If you do, you may need to upgrade the BIOS in order for the CPU to be compatible.
Besides updating the BIOs frimware if you are getting a B450 or an x470 motherboard - it's pretty much ready to go for the most part, but if you find it getting TOO hot your motherboard could be overvolting it. For most people the 3000 chips are drawing in 1.4-1.5v which is way to much. You'd need to drop those to about 1.325 the minimum.
