I was wondering how much I can sell this kind of computer on ebay for. I am planning submitted an auction for $400, but I was wondering how much you guys would sell this computer for.

If the auction on ebay goes well I am planning on buying a new computer with the money I get from selling the old one. (with the auction I posted now, I will get about a $375 profit including the final value fee) With that money I am planning on building another improved computer with these specs:

CPU & Mobo Combo - $114.99
CPU/ Processor: AMD Athlon X2 7850 Black Edition Kuma 2.8GHz Socket AM2+ 95W Dual-Core Processor Model AD785ZWCGHBOX
Motherboard: JetWay JHA06-GT-LF AM2+/AM2 AMD 780G ATX AMD Motherboard

GPU & Ram Combo - $159.98 - $15 M&R = $144.98
GPU: EVGA 512-P3-N871-AR GeForce 9800 GTX+ 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card
Memory: OCZ Vista Upgrade 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model OCZ2VU8004GK

HDD: Western Digital Caviar SE WD3200AAJS 320GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive - $49.99
Case: COOLER MASTER Centurion 5 CAC-T05-UB Black /Blue Aluminum Bezel , SECC Chassis ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - $49.98
PSU: Already own - BFG 450-Watt ATX CPU Power Supply GS Series
DVD Drive: I don't really use a DVD drive but if it fits my budget without lowering any spec please suggest one
Total: $359.94 + $5.99 S&H = $365.93

Please leave comments on my build and the price I should sell my old computer for.

*If you want to buy just message me and I'll message you a link to my auction, but prices might change to the people's advice*

Thank you,

Why not keep some of the parts from your old/current pc, and put them into your new one. The cpu u are getting is a very small step up, its almost not worth it

I need the money to get new parts. I'm planning on a building it from scratch. The x2 550 goes over my budget.

Well theres nothing cheaper than not spending that money. Dont get a new cpu, and as ovrclkr said, a dvd drive is only about 20 bux. And you did the same thing with your motherboard. almost NO difference, but you are still selling it and buying a new one. Keep you cpu and mobo.

Like I said I need to sell to buy the new parts. Yes there is no CPU change, but the GPU, HDD, and memory is a real upgrade.

It would take too long to sell them individually and it would be more costly. I am grateful that you are giving me advice, but your comments are not really what I'm looking for. I made up my mind on selling the computer. I just want an answer to my questions. Not an alternative to what I can do, but advice or alternative to my build might be helpful.

I hate to tell you this, but builders selling on ebay are losing money right now. You will be way better off parting out your computer. There are decent i7 systems selling for under $800 on ebay. Good quad core systems sell for $500 or less. Decent dual core sell for about $300. Just do a completed auction search for similar systems and you'll get an idea of what it will bring. Almost every computer selling on ebay right now sells for much less than it cost to build it unless you get really lucky. Its a good place to buy right now, but not so good to sell.

I have a Kuma 7750 laying around somewhere in my room....Let me know if the budget is that bad so i can help ya out... It was purchased from Newegg on April 14th 2009, so it's basically brand new and was never overclocked past 3.3Ghz (1.4v). I bought the 550 when it came out and now have no use for the 7750.......

I suspect your old PC might be worth $250 to some people; personally I wouldn't buy it. If you want to improve it, some upgrades make more sense. Some of the new parts you've chosen are also not worth it. The CPU is an insignificant step up. The only information I found on that PSU (another forum) suggests it is garbage, so I seriously doubt it could handle a 9800GTX.
You would probably do better to keep what you have until you can afford to upgrade the PSU, GPU, and HDD; $60-$70 for a decent PSU, $100-$120 for the GPU, and $60-$70 for the HDD.

Yea, as far as the 9800GTX you will need at least a good 500w PSU at the least.

In Jan of this year I built a pc for a neighbor and he wanted a 9800GTX but did not want to shell out too much for a decent PSU. I went with the EA650 and it is more than enough for that card. One of the most important pieces of hardware in a pc is the PSU, even though many peeps buy low end and say that it works fine... Chances are you will have to upgrade anyways in the near future so there is no reason not to get a reliable PSU for all your hardware (specially a new build). If you want to use your BFG 450w I would suggest that you purchase a GTS 250/4850 instead of a 9800GTX since it draws less power and uses only (1) 6 pin power
connector.
