I was wondering if I should get a 390 now and OC it or save up much more and get a 980ti. Both are great cards. I will be gaming at 1080p. i7-5820K, 16Gb of RAM, X99-A Mobo.
Thanks!

The AMD R9 390?

At 1080P just get whatever is cheapest out of the R9 390 or GTX 970.
You will not really notice much of an improvement at 1080P if you go higher than that.

Although if you have a 120-144Hz monitor a GTX 980 might be worth it to maximize frame rates.

I don't own a R9 390 but I've read that it has very little room to overclock, as opposed to a GTX 970. I owned the 970 just a few months ago. I upgraded to the 980 Ti, because I came across an extra USD$300 and wanted to put the money toward my computer. I also game at 1080p @60Hz, and I'm in the market for a wide screen 3440 x 1440 @60 Hz monitor. But in the meantime, I like knowing that I can absolutely max out any game in my resolution class. Btw, do you have a power supply that'll support a 980 Ti? What is it's mfg/model/wattage?
