Hi guys, I'd appreciate it if a GPU expert could answer something for me. I'm currently using a fx-6300 and a 7850 and will be upgrading to THIS soon. I'll be using a 29" 2560x1080p and couldn't decide what to power it with.

I was thinking about going overkill with a 980 to squeeze out as many years as possible but after looking at some benchmarks I noticed that a 390 could do the job fairly well for much cheaper and I could always crossfire when I felt the need.

Main thing I want to know is if the 390 really has 8gigs of vram. I intend to mod fallout 4 till it breaks then mod it some more as is tradition and remembered Skyrim ENBs could eat alot of vram. and at a higher resolution it would eat even more. There are other games but im sure the either can handle them.

So should I go with the raw performance of the 980 or keep it were I need it wit the 390?
