Hello, im About to buy New CPU, i mainly will be using for Rendering ( 3DS Max, Lumion, Unreal Engine ) So im a bit confused of those 2 Processors Ryzen 9 3900x and Dual Xeon E5-2690 V3

Ryzen 9 3900x Has Higher Cache ( L3 64 MB ) and Higher Clock Speed ( 3.8 - 4.6 ) Unlike 2690 V3 which is Only 30 MB Cash and Clock Speed 2.6 - 3.5 but According to Benchmark Result in Rendering using 3DS Max it turns to be that Dual 5690 V3 is Better in terms of time So im a Bit Confused of which one to buy

as for GPU im intending to buy RTX 3070 So will any of those CPU Bottleneck that GPU or they Both are doing fine !!?

Solution
Are you in a hurry to buy?, cause if you are not Ryzen 5000 series (zen 3) should come to market on November 5, and they seems to have some good performance uplift vs Ryzen 3000 series (Zen 2). I bet in the next weeks we are going to see the first benchmarks for this new CPUs. The new Zen 3 will use the same AM4 socket so you will be able to put them on any B550 or X570 mobo.

About your question:

Those are two diferent segments CPUs, the Ryzen 9 3900X is a dekstop CPU, while the Xeon is a workstation type. The Zeon will need a X99 mobo, while the Ryzen 3900X will work on any decent B450, X470, B550 and X570 mobo (I would really go with the B550 and X570 for this CPU). If you would to compare same segments, you should instead go with...

If you would to compare same segments, you should instead go with the 3xxx series Threadripper cpus instead.

Xeon is able to use up to 4 channel, 8 slots memory with 128GB of MAX "standar" RAM or 512GB of MAX registered RAM (more expensive). Ryzen is able to use up to 128GB, dual channel, 4 slots of standar or ECC memory.

If I have to guess, I would say the Ryzen 9 3900X would pair better with the RTX 3070 for gaming, but Im not sure if you plan to game, or just use the RTX 3070 as an accelarator/rendering card?, If you are going to use the RTX GPU to render then any of the CPU should be fine.

Take the following with a grain of salt, since Im not an expert (I hope someone else can give you more details about those specific programs), but If I had the money I would go for Ryzen since is a modern platform, with PCIe 4, support for higher speed RAM and Storage, and it has an upgrade path with the Ryzen 5xxx cpus.

Of course If I could wait I would hold for Ryzen 5000 series reviews and market launch.
