390x Fan making more noise

I have had a 390x for just a little over a year. I have used the card six hours a day. The idle temperature, in a pretty cold room, is 48 degrees celcius. The fan speed is 20% (3476 RPM) according to TechpowerupZ.

It just sounds more noisy. I downloaded some new drivers recently so that might have something to do with it or it might be a red herring.

Is this normal or is there a problem with the card?

That fan speed, if true, is crazy high. Imagine that at 100% it would be over 15,000 RPM!!!??? I think that reading isn't right. 3,000 should be approaching the MAXIMUM RPM, not at 20%.

I wont trust the readings completley. I do think that the fan is making a lot more noise when idle than it used to. I will run some more tests.
