390x GPU with G-Sync card

Will an AMD card be supported at all with a G-Sync monitor? What am i gaining/losing if i choose a G-Sync monitor?
I'm struggling to decide on a monitor to go with my 390x tri-x. I really like the Dell S2716DG..
Any advice would be appreciated.

G-SYNC is not supported by any AMD GPU.
