I have heard of people overclocking this processor to 4.5 GHz easily, and I am not experienced with overclocking, but What i did was raise the multiplier in the bios to 38 (3.8GHz) and that is the highest it will go without sometimes crashing if I go any higher. Can anyone tell me what to do to get it at a stable 4.3? Also, I have an h100i water cooler with average resting temps of 36 degrees celcius with it overclocked to 3.8Ghz. Please help!

Hmm. The 3930k seems to tap out around 4.5 to 4.8ghz. I was able to get 4.5ghz with 1.3v and 4.2ghz using stock voltage using a H100i and just raising the multiplier. 4.5ghz took a little bit of tinkering with the SA/IO, Ring voltage.

I suggest if you use the Auto overclock settings in the bios and see if that gets you any future since you can't go above 3.8.

I thought I was using the auto overclocking feature in my bios( I just changed the multiplier to 38, which is 3.8GHz) . But my average resting temps with my cpu overclocked to 3.8Ghz is like 36 degrees celcius. is that normal?
