3930k for over 4 years, upgrade time!

Hello there, how are you guys doing?
I have a question for you guys, that even after researching about it for weeks, I am still not certain about what I should do.
I currently have 1000 hard earned dollars, and i have been saving it for a ULTIMATE upgrade for my computer.
I currently have a gtx 1080ti,a ssung evo 500gb ssd, a p9x79 pro,1600mhz 16gb vengeqnce ram, and a 3930k which i have owned and it have been overclocked to 4.6ghz for around 5 years (i bought it shortly after it was released).Due to the age and lack of "speed" of the mobo/ram/cpu combo, i decided that it was time to upgrade those items
Now, the question is, what would be a definite upgrade to the 3930k?

Initially, I was thinking about upgrading to a 7700k, and of course a nice pair of 3200mhz vengeance lpx ram. But after some research, moving from a six core to a four core cpu bothered me. It also bothered me a lot that the 7700k can only handle 16 pcie lanes. Does that mean that if i get a sli going (which i will in the future), the cards will stay at x8/x8 instead of x16/x16?

In your guys' opinion, what would be a DEFINITE upgrade? I mainly play games and stream.
Should I wait for the i9s to come out? What is intel's flagship cpu for gaming at the moment?

Also, keep in mind that i would like to have at least a 4.7ghz going, for those cpu intesive games (arma 3, pubg)

What is your favorite full atx case?
(I might upgrade the case too, since mine is all broken from tevelling. It has been hard to find a decent full atx case right now, as the market is flooded with mid-sized cases)

PCIe lanes will have almost zero impact on GPU performance. 8x/8x might be worth a couple percent vs 16/16, but generally speaking a 7700K is enough faster in games than any 2011v3 or AM4 CPU that the difference is more than made up for. Given that you're playing Arma, the 7700K is almost certainly the CPU you want. You can't hit 4.7 on virtually any other CPU - Ryzen usually tops out around 4ghz, and the Intel 2011 chips top out in the range of 4.3-4.5 - and performance per clock is also higher on the 7700K. Regarding cases, I have been getting progressively smaller and smaller cases as the years have gone by as I began to realize that my cases were mostly empty space. It's easier to cool components when the amount of dead space in a case is smaller (to a point), resulting in less noise or lower temperatures at a given amount of noise. This isn't universally true, but I recommend buying something no larger than you need.

But there is one question to be asked, are you going to use a PCIe/ NVMe M.2 SSD that will also use PCIe lanes? If so, then yes you will require and X99 CPU that offers more than 16 lanes because nvidia SLI only works with X8/x8 minimum and PCIe based SSD would take away the lanes required for that. If your answer is yes about that type of SSD, wait for X299 and Skylake Extreme. it will bring best of I7 7700k and Broadwell I7 extremes together.

Also, as for Full Size Tower cases, i'm rocking a Phanteks Enthoo Pro. A fair warning, the side panel window scratches very easily. But i suppose same could be said for all cases with a side window.

Yes you could fit a Corsair H100 V2 in the case. But you will need to consider 2 factors. One, how big the heat sinks on the top part of the motherboard are, and two, making sure the fans or radiator dont block the cable management holes at the top section from being too thick. you could play it on the safe side and remove the hard drive cages and put the radiator in the front, but that would require an all SSD or 2.5 inch HDD build to make sure there is appropriate room for radiator and fans thickness. I personally do not have a AIO in this tower. So i could be off about some of this.
