So i recently purchased Intel's wifi link 5100 to upgrade the stock 3945abg on my Acer aspire 5610 (mostly for wireless-n capability) and for some reason the hardware radio switch will not turn on or do anything with the new card. All drivers and necessary software are correct as even windows says "this device is working properly" but for some reason the mb or something just won't recognize it. I tried re-installing the older card to make sure i didn't mess anything up during the swap and everything worked normally like before. So i tried installing the 5100 and again no response. Why wouldn't the new card work and is there a work around or another card to upgrade to wireless-n?
