I have multiple systems for a variety of reasons. I own almost all of the 3,000 family ryzen. From my experience I have used multiple different chips on all my different components. I had the 3900x installed on my x570 master with trident z royal samsung b die memory. Its rated for 3200mhz cl 14. I was able to use the ryzen ram calculator and get my ram to 3600mhz with some real tight timings similar to the cl 14. Then I put in my 3950x in and tried to go for similar overclocks on the memory but have noticed that the 3950x does not work well with anything over the xmp profile. Does this mean I have a bad 3950x? The 3950x works perfectly fine other then this. I'm new to messing with timings and overclocking memory. I am not a newb yet I'm not a pro overclocker by any means either. I tried all kinds of timings and voltages for the 3950x and it just doesn't play nice over 3200mhz on the ram. Just would like some thoughts from people with experience.
