What components of SP2 would cause a slowdown of 3D Accellerated Graphics?
Ever since I installed SP2 I've had problems with all of my games that use
3D, some minor, some major. Games like Mechwarrior 4 Mercs runs ok until
there is a lot of action going on, then it slows down. Baldur's Gate 2 is
unplayable with 3D Acceleration on, and it played fine with 3D under SP1. I
experience the occasional slowdown in Icewind Dale 2. I haven't tried Colin
McRae Rally 04 lately, but the first time I installed SP2, it became
unplayable as well. I'm not pushing the limits of what my Graphics Card can
do with ANY of these games. They all ran seamlessly under SP1.
I have UTD drivers and DX 9.0c. I clean my temps and run ad-aware and
spybot weekly. I have disabled and/or removed every Windows f-up that I
don't want. The only change to my computer since everything ran perfectly is
that I installed SP2. I don't even have the option of removing the SP2
components, b/c I installed from an SP2 (non-upgrade) disc. What gives?
