3d animation pc build

What are the best components to build a pc customized especially for Autodesk Maya? I maybe will do some gaming in the future. Ive already started with a Haf x 942 full tower but im not sure what to put in it. Im willing to spend up to $2,000 or $2,500.

X58 1336 is yesterdays technology. Just add a monitor, o/s and another set of that RAM for a total of 16GB.

Dual factory o/c gtx 580's in SLI, 60GB SSD for your o/s, modular psu, 2600K, 8GB of RAM, etc...
