I have

3D capable game(batman arkham city)

3D capable gpu

3D monitor

is that all I need to play 3D or do I need anything else..like blueray player,sli etc.?

You need TriDef or iZ3D software since you have an AMD card. See the middleware installation instructions here:

i have a samsung 3d monitor and a gtx570 and trying to get the 3d working properly with the tridef software was a total

pain--and updating the tridef software didnt help as the update didnt contain the samsung licence so parts of the

software wouldnt work at all--like the 3d media player

gave up in the end and just forgot about the 3d

if it hadnt been for the fact that can still use the 120hz feature of the monitor in games would probably have sent the

monitor back

Mine is 240 hz!! I knnow how to set up the 3d...do I need a blu ray player for 3d games?

What are some good games in 3d? Civ 5 black ops... anything else?

240hz...? Must me a TV. Sorry to inform you, but no TV's have a refresh rate higher than 60hz. When they advertise "240hz", they achieve it through frame interpolation, which makes movies and programs look smoother, but creates horrible input lag and makes games unplayable. The only way that I know of to play PC games in 3D on a TV is Nvidia 3DTV Play. However, it's limited to 720p resolution and frame packing, which looks far from nice when stretched out on a big TV. You also need an Nvidia card for this to work.

The real solution is a 3D monitor. These have true 120hz refresh rates, and are capable of displaying games in 3D with full resolution. Looks so much better than using a TV.

I have both, and while the 3D TV is good for movies and PS3 games, I do all my PC gaming on the monitor, because it's way better.

Why would you use tridef software with an Nvidia card? You should have been using the Nvidia 3d vision driver.

tridef software and a pair of glasses came with the monitor so assumed they should work with amd or nvidia

dont you need the nvidia glasses and nvidia 3D Vision USB IR emitter to use the nvidia 3d ?

which would cost me about another £100 probably

No.

Nvidia's "3Dplay" $40 and your own emitter/glasses are all you need.

Not the same as their "3D Vision" which includes their glasses and emitter.

Do you game at 1920 or 2560? And 60 fps/eye?

I now have monitor envy. I now must go back to work. This started over 30 years ago and will never end.

Why in the world are monitors limited to a wimpy 27 inches?

They are smaller because you are sitting closer. I have a 23", and I think it's fine. With a TV, you are far away while viewing it, so it needs to be larger.

While, I would prefer a 27", there are a few reasons I didn't go with it.
a)Cost. It would have cost me like a few hundred extra, and the few extra inches isn't worth it imo.
b)My desk only fits up to 24" monitors.
c)This one isn't a big deal, but the more you stretch out 1080p while viewing it up close, the worse it looks. You would be able to notice individual pixels on a 27", therefor needing to crank up AA more.

That's just me though.

I am using windows-7 with 2GB RAM & 500 HDD But when i am installing 3D game on my PC then this game hanged my computer. So tell me suggestion about this

As far as I know, there's no 27" 3D Monitor in existence that has a higher resolution than 1080p, although standard 27" monitors have like 1440p or 1600p resolution.
