3D Mark crashes

Just an odd one. My PC is quite stable, even when overclocking.

This is my settings:

AMD XP2500 running at 200 x 11 @ 1.725V
Radeon 9600Pro @ 445/355

Now with normal clocking everything works. But the moment I overclock my CPU only 3D Mark crashes at startup. Even Aquamark runs perfectly.

My system runs a bit hot, but the CPU never goes past 54 degrees. (Stock cooling, still waiting for my stuff from hardwarecooling.)

Does it crash in games?? That should be all that matters.

You might want to try to turn down your Mem clock if you want to complete the benchmark.

Maxtor disgraces the six letters that make Matrox.

The display card runs fine, clocked or under clocked.

At the moment the CPU is at 200 x 10,5. All games runs fine.

HAd an odd problem where my PC can't open files larger that 740Mb. Lots of games and DivX movies didn't quite fancy my setup. Now just 3DMark. Get +30000 for AquaMark, so it's nothing to cry about.

Thanks anyway

Give the CPU more juice. Try 1.75 then 1.775 but shouldnt have to go higher than 1.8. May sound wierd but you may have to drop the multiplier and compensate with higher clock too but try the voltage tweak.

Also please make sure that the temp you are reading is the cpu die temp and not the sockey temp. Die temp are about 10 degress hotter than the socket.

Barton 2500+ @ 2200mhz (10x220 vcore @ 1.8)

1gb Geil GD pc3500 Dual Channel (2-3-3-6)
Segata 80gb SATA 8.5ms seek
ATI Radeon 9800 Pro(420/720)

Also if you have 512mb of ram or more, then make sure the AGP size to 128 in your bios.

Thanks Addiarmadar

I'll try to get your clocking of 10x220 vcore @ 1.8.

Hardwarecooling still have all my parts, order still pending. Too expensive here to buy coolers locally. I can always vacuum pack my PC and put it in a cheap deepfreeze...
