Finally got 3D mark to run, and scored 5366.
I have got a 9800 Pro 128Mb, 1.5 gig PC3200, AMD XP 2400+ all stock.
Could not get compare results to run. Is this score ok, or really bad?

Hmmm... is that all the 9800 pro can push out ? I thought people were
getting in the 6000+ range with faster CPUs.

I'm running an XP1800+ at stock speed with my Sapphire 9800 pro and I get
5255.

I get 5500 with a XP2100+ and GeCube 9800Pro. When I first got it I
overclocked it to 400/750 and still scored 5500 so I put it down to a FSB
bottleneck. Runs plenty fast enough at standard settings though.

ARG! Why does my 2600+/266 system, oc/ at 2.22 ghz (16x139) only
score 5300 with my 9800 Pro! Is yours an Nforce chipset board?

My system was untweaked. That meant I still had Mcafee viruscan, Kerio
firewall and Hardware doctor (at the very least) still running in the
background. In the ATI control panel, I had the sliders at balanced (in the
middle) for OpenGL and Direct3D. I wanted to see how the system would
benchmark according to how my PC is setup for day to day running.

I'm sure I could have got a few more hundred marks by tweaking the system
but what's the point ? As long as the games that I want to play look good
and handles well.

Yep. Nforce 2 running Dual channel RAM at 133. Nice board actually.

Yeah, so I read. The chipset itself is what everyone is wondering about
It seems to be cleaned up and well optimized.

Hm. I got that with the little R7000-64 meg I got for the P3-800 (but
tried it in the P4 2.66 at 8X). The FX5900 just got 5420 in 3DM2003. I
think I'll be looking for a Radeon this summer too. Something with an
X800 in it sounds good

Oh, good points all. I have 4 kids, one teen still home with her mom
(17), the others are 22, 25 and 26, 4 grandbabies already here and the
fifth due in three weeks I've ratholed my little income tax refund
until I see a nice X800 unit around here Believe me, I feel your
strain!
