If I can use the nVidia Vision KIT only with the "3D Vision Ready" monitors and laptops that have included the IR transmitter, why did my nVidia Vision 2 Kit came with a separate IR transmitter?

I have a MSI Gaming laptop with nVidia GTX 570M and 120Hz monitor but I can't run the nVidia Vision 2 kit - the Stereoscopic 3D option is missing in my nVidia Control Panel.

If you have a display that comes with a built in 3D Vision emitter, you don't need the kit. And the display would have likely came with glasses as well.

If you bought something that was "3D Vision Ready", and assumed that includes an emitter, you may be wrong. Most "3D Vision ready" displays do not include the emitter.

What monitor are you trying to use for 3D Vision, and have you purchased the 3D Vision kit yet? I'm not sure what you have done and what you are wanting to attempt.

Hey, thanks for your reply.
I'm trying to use the nVidia Vision 2 kit with my laptop's display which doesn't say that is "3D Vision Ready" but it has 120Hz refresh rate.

My laptop is a MSI GT683DX with nVidia GTX 570M.

I already bought the kit, I've got it for only 90$ so I couldn't say no for the price. Now I have to figure out how to make it work on my laptop. I don't have any external monitor. Only a 2D TV SONY 120Hz KDL-46EX710.

I was thinking to get the ASUS VG248QE but it says on their website that it will not work in 3D through HDMI - which is what my laptop has (HDMI and VGA)
