Hello all,

This has been a problem for some time now. It's not a major one, but it's annoying nevertheless. Some of you are probably familiar with FutureMark's 3DMark. For awhile now, it hasn't been working properly on my machine. Whenever I run the FireStrike benchmark, my GPU doesn't ramp up to the correct clock-rate. It's supposed to be going to 1275/875MHz, but it's only ramping up to 400/900MHz. I suspect this to be a problem with AMD's PowerPlay, however all my other games and benchmarks work fine. Perhaps it a problem with 3DMark itself, but I'm posting here to see if anyone else has come across this problem and might have a solution.

Thanks for reading,

Specs:

Mobo: Asus A88XM-A
GPU: ATi Radeon HD 5870
CPU AMD A10-5800K
RAM: 14GB DDR3
PSU: 600W Corsair CX600M
Driver Version: AMD Crimson 16.1

This sounds like a specific issue with 3D Mark, especially if other games are working fine. It could also be a driver issue introduced with Crimson- I was under teh impression the HD 5XXX parts were no longer getting driver updates (given how old they are now)...?

I plan upgrading to an HD 7950 quite soon actually, but it's what I have meantime. As for the driver-updates, I found a site that has the Crimson Driver for legacy Graphics Cards.
