You need to optimized CCC to get the best scores from 3Dmark06 and Vantage. Basically turn all the eye candy to off/low/application controlled.

well, i think i know what the main issue is, i was running my res at 1900x1200. thanks for pointing that out. i think my CCC stuff needs some more tweaking. be back with much better results, i think/hope.

ok best results,

14626
cpu-5011
sm2-5693
sm3-6364

my conclusion: this is pretty much a worthless program. there has to be better ones out there. what do you guys recommend???

i was planning on using pcmark05 to check my comp performance but now after using 3dmark05 i am so sure pcmark05 will be any use. what are best benchmark programs to use?

its not the score its just this program doesnt tell me much. its too cpu dependent to really tell me anything one way or the other about my gpu performance. at the same time it doesnt really say anything about my systems performance in games either. besides my scores from looking around are on the high side for my system, but still.

Well when compared to other people with the same specs you can see the benefit of overclocking in terms of performance, and also if theres any anomalies in your system (I.e someone else with the same GPU getting twice your score).

It's worthless because you can't play it and it doesn't reflect real world performance. Scores have nothing to do with it, that's childish.

yeah, i can see how it would be good to check for anomalies or to check your stablity on an overclocked card or relative gains. i was just expecting something that would reflect actual 3d game performances a little more. thanks for the help.

modtech wasn't making any kind of personal attack prow, you're reading into that wrong I think, he was just trying to point out to falco and road why he feel's the benchmark program is worthless like you stated (don't think the post was even directed at you).

And to be honest, he was basically summing up exactly what you're saying any way. The benchmark doesn't really reflect the type of performance you get while playing games, it mainly just gives you a decent comparison between systems. He was basically saying the same thing that you have concluded, only adding that because of those reasons it is a bit childish the way people strive to max out their score for bragging rights, when all that really matters is the performance you get while gaming.
