Hello All - sorry if this is in forum.....

Have just ran 3DMark06 and pulled in a score of 12950, my setup is:

Intel Q6600 @3.20GHz, Radeon 4850 512, 4GB G.Skill PC8500 Ram. - Vista Ultimate SP1.

I was expecting a higher score than this, am i just being greedy, or is this the kind of ballpark figure i should be expecting?

Reason i ask is i have swapped out a 3870 XT for the 4850, and have gone up all of 800 3DMarks - is that right???

Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

Wow!!! Looks like no one replied to your thread for at least 6 months...ouch...I have a reply...If you're still there...

I have:

phenom II X2 550, Gigabyte GA MA 770T, 4 Gb 1333Mhz G.Skill, and an ATI Radeon HD 4850

I unlocked the cores on the CPU, so now it's a phenom II X4 B50 OC @ 3.2Ghz

CPU Stock Speed: 3.1Ghz

Stock Settings:

13762 3DMarks
SM2.0 Score: 5059
HDR/SM3.0 Score: 6278
CPU Score: 4730

Overclocked Settings

Settings:
CPU @ 3.2Ghz
RAM @ 1333Mhz
Graphics GPU @ 650Mhz, Graphics ram @ 1000Mhz

14108 3DMarks
SM2.0 Score: 5186
HDR/SM3.0 Score: 6449
CPU Score: 4824

Overclocked Even Higher!

Settings:
CPU @ 3.6Ghz
RAM 1333Mhz
Graphics GPU @ 700Mhz, Graphics ram @ 1.2Ghz

15730 3DMarks
SM2.0 Score: 5796
HDR/SM3.0 Score: 7205
CPU Score: 5346

Your scores seem OK to me...you could try overclocking your graphics card and seeing what you get...good luck...

Well Videl, I just built this PC and sadly i got 1600+- with

Phenom II X4 940 3.0 OC 3.4
Gigabyte Mobo GA MA 790GP
4 GB 800Mhz G.skull

AND

2x 4890 In CF !

So im guessing this isnt what i need to get! i need something better then a 1600 right ?
Ohh windows 7 64bit

You got 1600 on the overall 3DMarks? That's very low to be honest...Are you using 3DMark06?

Can you give me all the scores?
overall, SM2.0, HDR/SM3.0, CPU
maybe the motherboard doesn't recognize the CPU well or the Cross Fire...try a bois update...

Sounds like a good idea i was thinking about it just never found the time to download it... but i will do so and get back to you

Here is mine!

in the mean while take a look at this
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813188051
this is the mobo im getting for the i7 is that good ?

That mobo actually looks good to me...seems like it has everything you would need.
Except one thing: If you're planning on running Cross Fire, you won't have any space for any other cards, like a pci sound card for example, as most cards take up 2 spaces. Other than that it's a great motherboard. :)
