I was wondering if my 3Mbps(bits) internet connection is affected by my Gigabit LAN, only performing at around 100 Mbps.

It's most probably because I did a crap job of stapling my LAN cable to the wall. It went through about 2-3 times.

I don't really use it for network transfers, I just wanna know if I should replace it to maximize my 3Mbps connection.

Thank You!

Hi,

3Mbps(bits) internet connection is affected by my Gigabit LAN

no, your router/NIC is probably not a gigabyte and the is holding you down

I did a crap job of stapling my LAN cable to the wall

Unless you broke the cable, you might have speed degradation

I don't really use it for network transfers, I just wanna know if I should replace it to maximize my 3Mbps connection.

Do a test on http://www.speedtest.net/
if you hit 3Mbps then it's all good.

My fault, I thought the new ISP router would be Gigabit. It isn't.

Thanks for the answer. I was just worried if some "data would be lost" if the cable was crap and a little punctured. If it "could get faster" if the cable was competent.
