I'm planning on Buying an Intel Core i7-3770 (upgrading from an i3-2120) and I'm wondering if I'll need to update my BIOS? Locals have told me I should however I can't find any updates online! any help?

Motherboard: Intel DQ67SW
Socket / Chipset: LGA 1155 / Sandy Bridge
BIOS Version: SQ6710H.86A.0064.2012.0626.1003
BIOS Date: 26/06/2012

If i've missed out any information just ask.

Is this board in a specific pc model you own?
Doesn't look like it. From the case I can tell It's by Xenta and the case is pretty old

According to CPU-Z the motherboard is by Intel (not any other company like gigabyte or asus), On the website for the case on their website (https://xenta.co.uk/computing/computer-cases/xenta-computer-case/) It describes it as a "high quality, value for money option for any up and coming PC building enthusiast. ". From that I can assume it was built by somebody, used for a bit then sold to me.

Yes I was just trying to find out if it was like a Dell or something like that where you could look up thier support site for bios. I can confirm Geofelt's warning about cpu limit. CPU-Upgrade: Intel DQ67SW processor support
