3TB Disk will it run on Win 7 64 bit?

Hello
I have 64bit windows 7, and mother board Gigabyte GA-770TA-UD3 (rev. 1.0) :

Will this motherboard support full 3 GB disk (probably Western Digital RED 3 TB) with its full capacity (2,74 GB or so)?

Im not sure i wrote to the support of gigabyte, but nothing heart back so far...

Yes. a 3TB drive will work with that MOBO

Do you want to use if for a boot drive or a data drive? There are some additional restrictions for boot support -- GPT Support.

Yes, you wil have to use GPT (over the legacy MBR) to support beyond 2TB disks.

No, i will use it just as a data disk, i have an SSD disk, and yeah i know i will have to use probably the GPT (over th MBR), my point is, if my mainboard with its bios will be able to support the 3TB disc, since i read in more places, that some older pc (mainboardsú (my pc is around 4 years old?) dont support 3TB+ dics...

So no problem with my mainboard and bios, right? (im still waiting for reply from gigabyte :-( )?

I believe, for a data only disk, the BIOS is not as important -- Here is Microsoft's knowledge base article. UEFI not required.

Using as a data disk should not be a problem.

I have used 3tb externals on many older 2009/2010ish computers with no issues at all, used to use a AMD770 chipset ASUS board (so no uefi) with a pheonom II in it with a 3tb and 4tb drive in it for data storage.
