3TB HDD showing 2.72TB

Why is it ? Shouldnt i have like 3 TB full ? Please help me . Its a toshiba hdd . what should i do ?

i messed up one disk cause of that. im really looking foward hearing the answer. cause i did : 1. clean 2. format 3. create primary partition and everything i still couldnt get that extra in my case 220gb. sry i cant help you :3 but i do share your feelings

It is because windows classes one gigabyte as 1024 megabytes, but hard drive manufacturer class one gigabyte as 1000 megabytes.
