4 2tb Hdd raid 1 or 2 4 tb Hdd raid 10 for storage Raid

Hi I am looking to invest in a raid solution, but I dont know which one is better a 4 x 2tb raid 10 or 2 x 4tb raid 1 please? Obviously 4 tb is going to cost a little more but not by much. Any advice is appreciated

What are you trying to accomplish (what is the purpose of the RAID)? What other storage does the system have?

TO back up and store files,I am a full time photographer so looking for a solution for storage.

If it is for backups, then I would recommend a NAS rather than a RAID on your primary workstation.

That is not a backup. It’s high availability, which is also important for your work, but you need an actual backup solution.

If you accidentally delete a file, modify a file, or a file gets corrupted it’s done across the mirror instantly. Thus the backup.

Edit: if you already have mass storage and this is the backup to that, nevermind
