Hello, i play CSGO in 4:3 with black bars. I've never had any problem until today when windows 10 updated. It was like a major update because it took long and after first boot it showed splash screens with new features etc. In fact, my AMD crimson relive driver settings went back to default. Also fucking xbox app went default so i had to disable dvr again. So now i cant play in 4:3 aspect ratio because game goes stretched fullscreen. I cant do anything about it, it seems windows overrides my amd driver settings because it doesnt matter what aspect ratio i set there, game is always stretched.

Any idea?? Thanks!!

I already have 17.4.2 (in fact, i had it before win update). Already performed a clean reinstallation. But nothing. Im thinking in reinstalling windows and reject update

Ive tried changing every setting in amd driver gui, both global settings and csgo profile, but nothing worked. Also clean reinstall, of course.

So i pissed off and rolled back to previous windows version through "Control panel" interface. Windows rebooted as it was before Creators update, and problem solved. All was fine again.

Then this issue has to do with windows changing the scale-ability in the creators update. This was mentioned in a few reviews of the creators update, that they made changes to windows would scale properly with high resolution settings, 4k+. This must have had some adverse effects on lower resolution scaling. This is good to know but will surly cause heartache for some users.

"We've improved scaling for full screen games where the aspect ratio doesn't match the native display resolution, for example, when playing Counter Strike: Global Offensive using a 4:3 stretched resolution"

So yeah I guess they just force the game to fill the screen
