I have been having problems with my computer being awfully slow, e.g taking ages to load in simple functions like browsing the internet or opening library.
Could this be contributing to the awful performance from my PC?

You will need to do more detective work. Is the CPU fan spinning? Is the heatsink firmly attached? If it is an all-in-one water cooler, is the radiator warm, is the radiator fan spinning? Only you can see and touch things. We can't.Would this mean I need to get a new CPU or fan?
