You cannot compare the price of DDR 2 and DDR3 RAM...they are for different platforms and have different architecture, hence the price difference...

Yup, DDR2 is dirt cheap.
Look around and you can locate it even cheaper....

Before you purchase, maybe you should check your motherboard and see just what RAM you really need.
DDR2 is not compatible with DDR3 motherboards just as DDR3 is not compatiable with DDR2 motherboards.
