Hello,

I bought a 4GB DDR 3 Corsair for my laptop but the Ram is not recognized by the bios and windows. When I run a soft to detect the memory, it says that it is there.

My spec :

I use a laptop : an Asus R510 LDV-XX1054H.

What to do ?

If the BIOS can't detect it, Windows can't detect it and then no software running under Windows can detect it.

Re-check if you installed it correctly. Remove the old RAM and see if the new RAM is detected if alone in the machine. See if it is detected in different slots.

Be sure that RAMs are installed correctly... sometimes they need extra pressure to get in their place)
and put RAMs in the same color slots, if they all in same color put RAMs in 1st and 3rd or 2nd and 4th slots)

You did see OP said he uses a laptop, right? You also know that often-times laptops have motherboards (and RAM slots) that look nothing like the image you posted, right? Some laptopns have soldered memory on the motherboard and then an upgrade slot in a more easily accessible location like under a panel at the bottom, or under the keyboard or touchpad.

Could you let me know the specs of the new memory which you tried? Also could you confirm if you see only one memory slot or if only one slot is user accessible?

He has 64Bit OS. Check the image
