I bought 2 sets of 2. So 4 sticks of 32GB DDR5 6400.
Unfortunately they do not have 4 sticks that I know of. However my batches were consecutive, 1,2,3,4
They are on the recommended list for this mobo. https://rog.asus.com/us/motherboard...z790-e-gaming-wifi-model/helpdesk_qvl_memory/
I have attempted to run the in XMP mode with 1 stick, 2 stick, and 4 with no successful boots, Have to reset CMOS after extensive amounts of time. I ran memtest through BIOS at the default speed 4800 with no issue. When i changed it to xmp mode and 6400 then ran memtest out of BIOS I had loads of errors, and BIOS is also up-to-date.
Any advice would be much appreciated

  • ・Ensure that all memory modules are from the same validated memory kit. Do not mix DIMMs from different memory kits—even if they are the same brand and model (e.g., two DIMMs each from two different memory kits). Mixing and matching DIMMs can result in a failure to boot and compatibility issues. In particular, the stability of a system with mixed DIMMs cannot be guaranteed when XMP (Intel)/D.O.C.P (AMD)/EXPO (AMD)/AEMP/AEMPII is enabled. For example, enabling XMP (Intel)/D.O.C.P (AMD)/EXPO (AMD)/AEMP/AEMPII to speeds above DDR5 4800MHz or above DDR4 3200MHz could result in an unstable system.

For 4xdimm slots you can lower the frequency. It can work but it will take time and testing. If 4xDIMMs wont boot at the lowest frequencies then a BIOS update is the best bet. Its really hard getting memory to boot and it can be a waste of time trying.
