Hello there,

I have 6700k and gtx 1070 which is installed on msi z170a gaming carbon mobo.
There is 8 pin cpu power socket on my mobo but my psu only have 1x 4pin cpu connector.
Also psu have 2x6 pin pcie cable. but gtx 1070 requires 8pin pcie cable.

Do you recommend me to buy new psu (i' am already out of budget) or can i use my psu with a workaround?

thanks

Solution
High Power ECO sounds like a dodgy tier 5 PSU. As long as you buy your PSU from a reputable brand, such as Antec, Cooler Master, Corsair, Fortron Source Power, or as you mentioned, Thermaltake/Zalman, it will work fine.

However, check that the PSU you want to buy has two 6+2 PCI-E power connectors. Whether it has a 4 or 8 pin for CPU doesn't matter so much.
Use the one you have. If it works, keep using it. If it doesn't buy a new PSU. You won't damage anything by using a 4pin in a 8pin CPU power socket.
The extra 4 pins are usually there for extra overclocking headroom. At stock clocks, it shouldn't need it.

hello thanks for your answers.
i have High Power ECO 600W psu.

i have another issue with pcie cables. psu has 2x 6 pin connectores. there is no +2 pin. so gtx1070 requires 8 pin. how can i solve this without damage my card?

if i going to buy i am considering Zalman ZM600-LE

Is it this one?
It's actually mislabeled 400-450W PSU.

Get a new high quality model from EVGA, XFX or Seasonic for your new GTX1070.
