[SOLVED] 4 Pin MOBO not Compatible with 8 Pin PSU Cable?

Linked above is a picture of the problem I'm running into. My motherboard has a 4 pin slot but I have a 8 pin power cord from my PSU. The problem is I can't split the cord in two and the box on the motherboard is blocking it from plugging all the way. Will this still run like this? I want to make sure because I don't want to put in the CPU with thermal paste, then I cant power the CPU.

Nevermind I fixed it! I had to rotate the cord so that it would fit in and not hit the box.

Rotate?!?! That would reverse the polarity.

What PSU has an 8-pin instead of a 4+4?????
