Ive recently upgraded from a 9700k with z390 Aorus Ultra to a 5800x3d and Asus Tuf B550m Plus Wifi II. My problem is i cant get the 5800x3d to post with 4 sticks (HyperX 8GB DDR4 3600 17-21-21-39) no matter how many combinations ive tried. Every stick is working (litteraly just unplugged from the 9700k and into the new board), i can post with 3 sticks (but need to add 1 stick at a time), every slot on the motherboard is working with all sticks, one at a time. I can boot with dual channel in either position (A1 B1, A2 B2) but when i add the last stick, no matter the settings (even tried 2400 20-22-22-44), voltage, etc, when i add the last stick, RAM Led indicator pops up and no post. Its my first amd Cpu and ive read that 5000 IMC should be comparable to 9-10 gen intel. Did i just got unlucky and got a bad IMC? Is the daisy chain in this board super bad compared to T topology on the Aorus Ultra or is it probably a faulty board?
Right now, im using it with slots A1 A2 B2
From my understanding, its probably the CPU not being capable of manage 4 sticks, since all slots are working correclty. And if thats the case, i want to RMA as fast as possible.
If its a daisy chain problem, ill probably sell my ram and find a 2x16 kit.
Thanks in advance

Straight from AMD, max speed for 4 sticks is 2933, even lower if they are dual rank sticks, so make sure to decrease the speed to make all of them work together. Also don't increase vsoc above 1.3V , or allow the mobo to do so, since it could cause permanent damage to your cpu.

Those are the "officially supported" speeds, DOCP of course goes higher. I am running 4x8GB single rank at 3600 with ease but that's some top shelf RAM I bought. Fortunately for the OP, X3D isn't as hamstrung by lower RAM speeds like the non Vcache line up. But considering they already tried slowing things down to 2400Mhz I suggest a 2x16GB kit, and one certified by AMD just to be sure. More sticks means more troubles in my experience.

Little update: I got it to post and pass memory tests at 3600mhz 18-21-21-39 with all 4 sticks. Saved the config on a pen drive, but after reconnecting and closing everything, it wouldn't post. Tried to reseat ram in the same order and now I can't get to post at 3600 even with one stick. Is it more probable that the imc on this chip is damaged or the trails on the mb are bent?

Amd am4 mem controllers are a little finicky. They really like Samsung B-die. Which unfortunately is expensive in 32gb.

Benefit of the x3d chips as stated above is all that extra cache really makes tight ram timings unnecessary. Look at your motherboard QVL list and find something that works either new or used (accepts returns) on eBay.

4 sticks is nice, you'll likely have better luck with B-die (3600mhz 16-16-16) and even then it's a roll of the dice.

Other option if you're ok with 16GB is Gskill Flare X 3200mhz 14-14-14. It's slower obviously in name but benchmarks similarly to 3600 16-16-16 and can be found cheap. Should get you booted and stable.

I've ordered a 2x16 hyperx kit which seems to be good enough. It'll arrive tomorrow, and it'll probably just work (hopefully) since it's on the motherboard compatibility. Unfortunately here in Brazil it's hard to find good ram, especially gskill (without paying for import taxes). Since I managed to use 3 sticks at docp, I'm hoping with 2 it'll be fine, then I'll sell my old kit. Unfortunately I play tarkov, so 32gb is a must. I'll update tomorrow sharing the result. Thanks for all you guy's help

Edit: The ram - KF436C18BB/16 is 18-22-22, but at least its single rank. Im trying to find the manufacturer, but if the manual is anything to go by, its trfc 350, which should indicate Samsung, according to intelgralfx ddr4 guide. Ill run typhoon burner when it arrives

Last update:
Ram arrived, worked flawlessly (didnt even need to cmos). Acording to Thaiphoon burner its skhynix c die (cjr) but its actually pretty good. Running it at 16-19-19-36 without even touching voltages. Didnt try to lower it anymore, but its stable as stock.
So, summing everything up, my cpu is excellent (running pbo at -30 and low soc voltages too), my motherboard is good, my ram kit is good with the 9700k. Gonna keep the new ram and sell the old. Thank you all for the help.

Did I miss something? My 5950x, Asus X570-pro WiFi with 4x16 only because it is a matched set that has been ruining just fine for over a year. 3600 XMP, great RAM score too. Auto CPU core speed is great. Guess it depends what your ultimate goal is and how the PC is setup. Fried parts or moderation? You decide.

No ok, fried parts is more of a 7000 series thing, the 5000 seems to be much more resilient.
I just added the link as a cautionary "look what could happen" .

Nice! Keep your eyes on event viewer for any WHEA errors. I thought I was stable at -30, but was getting a few. Ended up going -15 & -20 on the favored cores (gold and silver stars in Ryzen Master. No more errors.
