I just bought without thinking, another 2 x8 of

Was this a good thing to do? is 32gb going to give better performance than dual channel 16?

Processor: AMD Ryzen 5 5600 6-Core Processor 6/12
Motherboard: ASRock B450M Steel Legend
RAM: 32 GB
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 (8 GB)

use cpu-z spd to check both jedec for similar settings they might not work on same jedec then compare with memory tab using only one stick of each in system .

They have the exact same JEDEC readings
Edit no they don't actually

Mixing ram is a gamble. It probably will work but it might have stability/post issues.

Assuming it works fine, it should be able to run in dual channel and have similar performance to just the 2x8 kit alone.

So it was a complete waste of money? thats good

That's not the point. What's the version number of each kit?
