4 TB WD passport not read by the laptop

When the HDD was empty it was working properly but after I transferred about 600 GB data into it , it started to malfunction; it was detected by the laptop but in my pc it just keeps reading the HDD indefinitely; meaning I can't open it by clicking on it even if it's showing in my pc....

rapbtycoon256, does the drive show up in the BIOS? If this is an external drive try it on another unit.

Unplug HDD.

Restart computer.

When Windows has completely finished loading (and not before) plug HDD back in.
