I'm sorry if I'm in wrong section.
Today a friend of mine bring me a computer of his mother and asked me to upgrade it.
The motherboard is with a AMD 785G / SB710 chipset and supports both AM2 and AM3 cpus.
I already have a AMD Phenom™ II X6 1035T which is pretty good even for today's standard and I was planning to install it to my friend's computer.
I just entered the bios to see the current configuration and I was shocked the BIOS is reading that the CPU is running almost at 4 volts (3.71 v.) and the CPU temp is 140 degrees celsius(284 degrees Fahrenheit).
I have updated the BIOS to the latest version but nothing changed. CPU-Z and all the other programs are confirming the ratings too.
I believe this CPU shouldn't be able to run under these circumstances.
When I stressed the CPU to 100% for more than 30 minutes the temperature didn't changed at all. it's same as when it's idle arround 140 degrees celsius.
I wonder what's wrong with this system, and shall I be installing the new CPU because I'm scared of damaging it with such a high core voltage. It's only reading the ratings incorrectly or there is something terribly wrong.
I have changed the core voltage settings manually but it didn't helped, it's same in automatic too.
Thank you in advance.
