Crucial M4-CT256M4 4 years old firmware 070h at 82% of capacity Win 8.1 boot and storage drive. Any considerations before format/install W10?

Don't format. Just delete the partitions. Ideally you want to let it sit overnight (powered on) for garbage collection to zero the drive. But you can do that later.
