40 Pin Plug

I am a newbie trying to replace the screen on a HP Pavilion g7 laptop. It is very east except I cannot unplug the 40 pin plug out of socket by gently pulling. Are you supposed to pull straight out on this and I am just not pulling hard enough OR are you supposed to lift it?

As scout_03 's pdf url shows; the clip should slide out after releasing the (transparent) tape.
It still might seem stuck and not mentioned in the manual:
Often there is some adhesive substance between back panel and display cable!

Release it by gently pulling the cable of the panel
-caution- pulling too hard might damage the clip -
or instead use a thin flat plastic (old credit card) to loosen the cable up;
gentle twist and slide it under the cable until it reaches the clip.
