Title pretty much says it all. I like amd, and have a freesync monitor, upgrading from an rx480 8gb.

RX 5700 XT 8gb with aftermarket cooling if possible as the reference ones run quite warm.

I saw a reference cooled RX5700 (non-XT) for $290 the other day. Almost jumped on it!

rx 5700xt was what I was looking at, not a 4700xt xD My monitor is an asus mg248q, i'll probably move to a 240hz after the gpu purchase

I did... brother.

The 5700 is plenty for 1080p gaming and 240Hz is pointless. Stick with what you've got or get a larger 1440p monitor.

The Sapphire Pulse and Gigabyte Windforce are the two most well rounded 5700XTs.

I prefer AMD as well. But Nvidia GPUs can do FreeSync now also. FYI
