400$ gaming rig upgrade to play at 1360 x 768

I would wait for the AMD Kaveri CPU, it can do 30fps BTF4 on HD on medium settings, you are looking at still allot of money because you need new Ram as well 😉. Your DDR2 wont make it.
The CPU is also Mantle compatible so you can expect a performance increase, but with any APU, your Ram speed is very important.

If the CPU will be crossFire enabled to work together with another cheap AMD GPU, then your looking at a real prospect of gaming for 400 dollars, lets wait till about half februarie.

Plenty of benchmarks on Google, i disrecommend the CPU for the simple reason that within a short time span...Kaveri will be released and that thing is powerfull!. You will regret!

I'm not sure I'd go with an APU for gaming, especially if you plan to upgrade from FM2 sockets.
In this case, a real CPU/GPU combo would work better all around with the same price range in mind.

yes that APU can eventually do handle BF4 at such good settings but still you can get a bit more better at 400$
