400$ Machine for Dota 2

I'm a newbie here, I just want to know if it's possible to build a gaming machine spending only 400$ and will able to play Dota 2 at high settings?

And I also want to know how to build a gpu+cpu+mobo combo, I googled a lot and found out that CPU may throttle GPU, I want to know what's the system requirements of some GPUs (specially GDDR5 GPUs ) .

He is actually in the clear, DOTA 2 should be for linux. Here's a build that would perform much better, but makes sacrifices with a cheaper psu (but still of decent quality) and lakes an optical drive.

My system does not have my gtx 770 installed yet and so im using the integrated intel hd 4600 which comes with my i5-4670 k and i get 90fps in league of legends and 70-80 in dota 2.

If you cannot afford an i5 and dedicated graphics you should be able to get along untill can afford a graphics card.

Assuming that the i5-4440 and i5-4670k have the same integrated graphics, this is actually a very good option. The only problem is when he would want to play games other than dota. Also, a quick comment on your build, why the z87 motherboard? The 4440 doesn't have any overclocking capabilities, might as well get a cheaper motherboard to save money.

Hey may I know your full computer specs? and do you use special configuration in BIOS or just the default?
and also what's your dota 2 settings and fps when playing online?

To give you an idea, this article states you should be able to achieve 36 fps on the highest detail setting at 1080p.

Absolutely nothing done for them FPS. Built PC -> Installed Windows 8 -> Played the game
