The AMD build give you much better graphics now, but very limited upgrade paths. The Intel build has a great upgrade possibilities, but will be less able to dial up the graphics quality now.

Didn't he just ask for a cpu and a gpu not a whole build? Based on how he phrased his question I assumed that he was asking for a cpu and gpu to throw into a build with an 1150 socket mobo and other satisfactory parts. Also I'm not so sure about your statement that the AMD path is better for upgradibility. I'm pretty sure that you can't run an FX chip cpu in an FM2 board, so he'd be stuck with Athlon processors wouldn't he? Whereas he could always pop a pentium in a high quality mobo and get a better cpu later on.

Ah, right. I misread. I had thought the whole build.

....but you misread me :) For a $600 build, I said AMD better now with little upgradability, but Intel had less performance now, but could be upgraded to better.

LOL, yeah you're right I did. :)
